Who is behind it

Making the show he needs.

Bill Carroll spent years as COO of Ready Rig, building tools working camera professionals carry onto the biggest sets and channels in the industry. The relationships from those years, from Hollywood camera departments to YouTube's most-watched filmmakers, are the show's foundation. Now he is making the show he needs: Ripples is built on the belief that helping one person finish one film changes more than the film.

The channel is I am Bad Billy. Bad Billy was the alter ego Bill raced triathlons under in college. The name stayed because it never let him take himself too seriously.

Three covenants, kept on screen
  1. ADS

    Advertising is always marked

If money touched a frame, the frame says so.

  2. EDIT

    Editorial is never for sale

No sponsor sees a cut early, approves a cut, or shapes one.

  3. AI

AI stays out of the creative work

The films, the interviews, and the edits are made by people.

The ask

Who Ripples is looking for.

Subjects

Working filmmakers with an honest interview in them. Two days, final cut stays with the show, and the episode sends its audience to your work.

First-time filmmakers

The application opens with the channel: apply to make your first film, and make it with help.

Collaborators

Crew, editors, and creative directors who recognize this show and want their fingerprints on it early.

Brands

Companies whose products beautifully facilitate the creative process. That philosophy is the filter, and aligned sponsorship is open in season one.
